The “SUPER FAN” Joe McKeag gives us a great demonstration of 3 tricks used by “Wiley” in the movie Premium Rush to get away from the villains.

TRICK #1 The “POWER SKID”

1.) Get up out of the saddle and press your hips up against your bars.
2.) With one foot you press down and with the other foot you pull up while keeping your feet level.

TRICK #2 “180 Degree Spin”

This trick is a two part move.

1.) Pedal backwards
2.) When you are ready to do a 180 press down with your back foot then pull up on your bars and throw the bike around as hard as you can 180 degrees and then start peddling forward in that direction.

TRICK #3 “Bunny Hop”

1.) Get a lot of speed
2.) Lift your front wheel up as if you are doing a wheelie and then trust yourself out of your seat and throw your knees up towards your chest.

PEDAL MOBBIN dtla rooftop

The homie Malik sent this video through as a peek of what we can expect to see from the Pedal Mobbin crew in the near future. Although I am not a huge fan of editing to dubstep I think this video was edited very well and for those of you out there that like to edit your own videos pay close attention to how they edit this video to the music. It makes such a huge difference and makes the videos you make so much more enjoyable to watch. I look forward to seeing more videos to come from these guys.

HOW TOO build your own steadycam

Now I know many of you riders out there love to film and edit your own videos just as much as you love to ride your bike so I thought you all would like this video on how to make your own steady cam rig. Now as far as cinematography goes one movie that stands out in my mind above others is the original MACAFRAMA. It has some of the most artistic shots of any fixed gear video/movie to date. One of the best ways to improve the quality of your videos is to make your own steadycam rig. One of the biggest advantages to having a steadycam is the versatility it gives you to get steady clean shots no matter if you choose to run, skate, or bike behind your filming subjects. A video that stands out in my mind is the iMiNUSD rides sf 2012. I took a screen shot of Jeff Dempler running behind Matt Montoya at the 25 second mark of the video with a steadycam rig. If you look at the quality of the shots throughout this video you will notice the smooth fluid motion of the shots as they follow behind filming. There are programs such as Adobe Primiere 5.5 that have a “Hyper Image Stabilizer Mode” however it takes forever to render a clip unless you have a powerful computer with 8+ GB of ram or more. Also another good program is Twixtor in which is a excellent program to use to create a smooth motion in those shots with to much shakiness: please remember that Twixtor is a plug in for Adobe Primiere or Final Cut Pro. Before adding all these programs be sure to watch this helpful tutorial on how to build your own steadycam for about $15 wihich is pennies compared to buying and name brand rig with performance that is just as good if not better.

ANAMORPHIC wide angle lens

I saw this posted via RECFAIL showingoff this new lens design. From what I learned from this video the new lens is capable of capturing up to two times the amount view as a normal wide angle lens. This is truly sick ! I am really curious to see what the price tag is going to be on one of these bad boys. You can see these news lenses in person at the Las Vegas NAHBS Show or like the video on You Tube for a chance to win one of these sick new Anamorphic lenses.
