I have always loved going to Critical Mass bike rides but when I got a chance to help out with a local “Kidical Mass” ride in my community of Long Beach, Ca. I could not help but want to get involved with a awesome event like this for kids. I must give a special thank you to one of the MASHAFIX.com sponsors that donated over $1000 in brand new bicycle HELMETS for these young kids. On Sunday August 19, 2012 a large group of parents and their children got together at Los Cerritos Park which is located in Bixby Knolls, Ca.(long beach). This was not just any ordinary bicycle ride. In fact, this is something very special that is put on every month to help young bicycle riders learn to ride as a group while also learning all of the laws of the road to help keep them safe. Kids from all ages showed up on this particular Sunday afternoon to take part in this group bike ride. The Workshop LB has been taking part in this event by offering free bike tune ups and maintenance tips to all parents and kids that come out to Kidical Mass, but this time was even more special because PRO-TEC Helmets has teamed up with The Workshop LB and Mashafix.com to provide free helmets to these young riders. PRO-TEC believes in tradition and so many many adults have grown up wearing PRO-TEC helmets that it is why we pass along this tradition to the kids that come out for this event. “INVISIBLE HELMET” #realtalk

Now when I first saw this I could not decide if it was fake or real. I think until the day I see these items in person and for sale I can not trust that this is for real. The concept is very creative although it may a bit cumbersome to wear a neck piece like that in hot climates even opposed to wearing a helmet. I wish these airbags were also installed in the helmets we ride with today however we may see those too in the near future. Now there is rumor that these have gone for sale already in Europe but I can not find any info on that to back it up. No matter what these helmets are super sick but what would happen if you hit something with sharp edge … will that puncture these “invisible helmets” and cause them to fail ? Or will the inflation of a bag full of air be enough to prevent head trauma or even pressure that may be applied to your head following a crash or even worse multiple impacts ? ….. I guess I need more proof of these being safe or real. #realtalk

MASHAFIX bike check with jahrome

Now out of all the bikes I own this has to be one of my all time favorites for sure. Master painter JOSH HARRIS did an amazing paint job on my LDG AERO FRAME. When you hear the term “candy paint”, well here it is ! When the sun hits this paint job it is almost blinding with all metallic red flake in the paint. What really surprised me was the overall weight of this bike. I was expecting it to be a bit heavier because of the paint however it is still easily under 16 pounds. I was able to shave quite a bit of weight by using all carbon fiber components. The LDG FRAMES were specifically designed around the EASTON EC90 products so if you are in the market for one of these FRAMES then I suggest using these parts as well for they are readily available at the LDG storefront in Huntington beach, Ca. I would like to give a special thanks to all the guys at LDG for helping me build this bike up.

Mashafix.com presents – WEAR A HELMET

Now this is something I am sure many of you out there never ever expect to have happen to you, but the reality of it is that no body and I mean NO BODY EVER PLANS on stuff like this to happen. This footage was taken yesterday during a Sunday bike ride with a good friend of mine. We were approaching the intersection at a speed of at least 20mph + when a car who was supposed to yield to on coming traffic decided to turn and hesitate causing my friend to do his best to avoid her while also not going left into on coming traffic. The end result was definitely painful I can tell you that and my friend promised me to get a helmet after this. He walked away from this with some road rash to his face and a gash on his hand from going threw her back passenger window. In this case he is fortunate to walk away with minor injuries. As for his bike …… well let’s just say he is going to be needed a new bike as well hahahhaha !!! So I hope many of you out there realize weather your are mashing threw traffic or doing tricks that anything can happen and its not always about “LOOKING COOL” …. trust me you will look a whole lot “COOLER” with your brains inside your head. #YOUKNOWWAZGOOD

PLEASE REMEMBER …. YOU CAN NOT RIDE YOUR BIKE IF YOU HAVE BRAIN DAMAGE ….. OR IF YOUR BRAIN IS NOT IN YOUR SKULL…. THINK ABOUT IT ! I know that wearing a helmet may not be the “COOLEST” thing, but I do promise that it will save your life. Weather you are tricking or just riding fast be sure to wear one and if you do wear one please wear it correctly. I can tell you from personal experience that its the smart thing to do. I have shattered 2 helmets and woken up in the hospital after being hit by a car leaving me with my eye busted open and my teeth threw my upper lip…. NOT FUN ! ….ps… THANKS CANDACE FOR POSTING UP THIS PIC !!

This post goes out to not just Long beach but to every city and every country out there. Hopefully this STOLEN BIKES OF LONG BEACH PAGE will help start a trend in getting people their stolen bikes back. I encourage everyone to CLICK HERE and SIGN UP !!!! What I love most about living such a great cycling community as Long Beach is that almost everyone whos rides knows each other some how. It is hard to not recognize when someone is riding your friends bike around town. I want to personally thank MR. ALL AROUND LONG BEACH BICYCLE GUY GRAHAM BADEN for showing up after his long day of work to our group ride last night and encouraging everyone to LIKE the STOLEN BIKES OF LONG BEACH PAGE not only did he go out of his way to tell us about this page he also is the first person to donate money towards helping others in need when they have there Skateboard,Bike,or any other form of transportation stolen from them that is not a car. Graham is honestly one of the coolest guys I know and I do not think you will meet anyone who is as genuine as he is. I swear he is on a mission to help this city out with its bicycle theft problems more so than our own police department or city council members are.

A great example of how great this STOLEN BIKES OF LONG BEACH PAGE works is just 2 days ago a local riders bike was stolen from the bike rack right out front of THE WORKSHOP BICYCLE SHOP located in Bixby Knolls. The kid that stole the bike was captured on camera and was stupid enough to post the kids bike for sale on facebook within hours of it happening. Obviously this kid is really STUPID because once he did that people that knew that bike was stolen were smart enough to take a screen shot of the bike he posted for sale and also his personal facebook page. Now I would normally be totally against this but for real I think this needs to be done. Below are some pictures I would like to share with all of you. One pic is the camera footage of the kid stealing the bike. The second photo is the kid putting the bike up for sale via facebook. And the third photo is a screen shot of the dumb kid who stole the bike..YUP I JUST PUT THIS KID ON BLAST !!! THIS KID IS NOT EVEN 16 AND STEALING BIKES TO TRADE PEOPLE FOR DRUGS ! SERIOUSLY DUDE ??!!…. I personally do not think you need any drugs in your life because obviously you are an IDIOT !!!! So if you live in LONG BEACH and know this kid then I suggest you do yourself a favor and cut ties with people like this because they are SHADY and you never know when they are just going to steal from you. So RICKY ALLISON of LONG BEACH I hope you see this post because you done fucked up man ! DON’T STEAL BIKES BRO !!!! I hope this is enough humiliation for you to change your ways man because at 16 you are fucking up bad man and nobody is going to want to see you riding around Long Beach if your known for STEALING BIKES !!! I would also like to add the you have NO FRIENDS RICKY BECAUSE IF IT WAS NOT FOR “YOUR FRIENDS” helping to RAT BOTH YOU AND JAYE out then this bike would have never been recovered.
