Bud is a beast on his bike and for those of you that are fortunate to either know Bud or have road with him will know he is simply just fast. Bud has won many big races such as the LA Marathon Crash Race, Lord of Griffith, and the Las Vegas MASH Race. Now this is something I am sure many of you out there never ever expect to have happen to you, but the reality of it is that no body and I mean NO BODY EVER PLANS on stuff like this to happen. This footage was taken yesterday during a Sunday bike ride with a good friend of mine. We were approaching the intersection at a speed of at least 20mph + when a car who was supposed to yield to on coming traffic decided to turn and hesitate causing my friend to do his best to avoid her while also not going left into on coming traffic. The end result was definitely painful I can tell you that and my friend promised me to get a helmet after this. He walked away from this with some road rash to his face and a gash on his hand from going threw her back passenger window. In this case he is fortunate to walk away with minor injuries. As for his bike …… well let's just say he is going to be needed a new bike as well hahahhaha !!! So I hope many of you out there realize weather your are mashing threw traffic or doing tricks that anything can happen and its not always about "LOOKING COOL" …. trust me you will look a whole lot "COOLER" with your brains inside your head. #YOUKNOWWAZGOOD

So this was the first official ROYAL HC FLASH COMP and I am super stoked to be a part of it. The day started off with almost a hundred kids waiting out side of local bike shop City Grounds in downtown Long Beach, Ca. This had to be one of the biggest turn outs I have ever seen for a Fixed Freestyle Comp and it had nothing to do with Pro riders this time except having Joe McKeag, Antonyo Wothe, and Justin "CONGO" Mitchell being the judges for the comp. At about 11:15am on February 18 the group headed out to Houghton Skate Park led by Joe McKeag. Also leaving city Grounds was the Ally Cat Race. The race consisted of just over 11 miles and 2 check points which was won by "WILLO" and Morris Anthony came in 2nd. Place. The FLASH COMP had two categories featuring a Sponsored and Unsponsored class of amateurs. For the unsponsored class Hector Carillo took 1st. Place and for the sponsored category Marco Marquez took 1st. place. These kids went all out and it was so much fun to be there with kids competing that were half of my age. These kids are getting so good and there is no doubt in my mind that these kids are the future of Fixed Freestyle as a sport. Watching kids throw bikes around that were almost as big as they were was priceless and yet so sick ! I really look forward to seeing the next ROYAL HC FLASH COMP and hope to get a chance to film all these riders again. This was the first comp I have ever filmed with only 1 camera so please do not be upset if I missed a trick because there was so much going on and having multiple riders to watch out for on the course was insane hahaha. recently traveled up to Northern California on a mission to capture some of the best Fixed Gear riders in the world. On September 11, 2011 I traveled to San Jose, Ca. for the 2nd. annual iMiNUSD freestyle fixed gear trick competition. The day started out with a train ride from San Francisco. I was able to travel with two of the best FSFG riders ever Josh Boothby and Matt Reyes to the event which was amazing because they took both 1st. and 2nd. place in the trick comp that day so I will never forget that day for sure. Especially because Mr. “Boothby All Day” after the competition was over decided to take his riding to the street and led the group we were riding with into a driveway full of thorns which made all of our tubes go flat at the same time ….. so thanks again ! LOL ! But besides that it was a day full of great riding and good times. The turn out was really good attracting people of all ages to come out and spectate. I swear iMiNUSD couldn’t have picked anyone better than Wonka to announce the comp. I went through hours of footage and I swear his commentary is priceless. I have had so much fun on this trip up north filming and I even got a chance to film with some of the iMiNUSD team riders prior to the event and visited there storefront located in San Jose, Ca. I was very impressed with there store. They literally carry almost everything in stock for all your Track or Trick parts and accessories. I really like the vibe I got when I got there I saw a group of kids and riders outside hanging out and the employees were very friendly. It was definitely a community bike shop and a place I would recommend to anyone. I also met the owner Mark at the comp and he was awesome and even gave me a shirt to rep and I been doing just that down south here in Long Beach, Ca. Well I hope you all enjoy this video I put together from the trick comp. I happened to be in San Jose for a FSFG competition and stumbled upon the Phil Wood Factory. I met Matthew and Peter a who took me through a tour of the factory where they make all of the hubs and track parts. After seeing how everything was made first hand it really made me appreciate the quality of their products so much more. It really is amazing how you can take raw steel or aluminum and create such amazing and prestigious bike parts as Phil Wood & Co. does.

Critical Mass is held in over 300 major cities and countries across the world on the last Friday of every month. This is an awesome ride that promote bicycle safety and awareness to cyclists and motorists. By bringing a large group of people together on bikes makes such a huge statement to people in this world that 1.) WE NEED TO SHARE THE ROAD & 2.) PROMOTES A HEALTHY AND GREENER WAY OF LIVIING ! This was filmed in the city of Los Angelas in which the city provides a police escourt for the riders to safely travel through the city and its intersections. NO OFFENSE BUT ISN’T LONG BEACH THE “MOST BICYCLE FRIENDLY CITY IN AMERICA”???….. So this was the very first Official Mashafix Ally Cat Race that met at Rick Wickeds located in Long Beach , Ca. I got a chance to follow some of the riders and film and at appx. the 2:00 minutes marks I get pulled over for “impeding traffic” because a friend was filming out the window …. while a rider was skitching the car. Besides that the night was fun and Candace our only girl in the field took first place. So stoked to see girls out here riding with the boys. Second place was taken by Mike and Third by SK. I want to thank Rick Wickeds for donating some prizes for the race and giving us the location to hold the event. I traveled down to Chicano park in San Diego, Ca. for the 2nd. Annual Bunny Hops for Breast Cancer Fixed Freestyle Contest and got a chance to take some footage of the event that I would like to share with everyone. I know that the Fixed Freestyle culture has spread all over the world and has become one of the most popular sports that has turned into its own subculture and lifestyle. Many of the most influential people in the sport traveled to San Diego, Ca. this past Saturday to compete and to help raise money for Breast Cancer. I interviewed Rocko who is the man behind Fast Pace and he said they raised close to a $1000 but with no exact amount totaled yet. Besides the contest the day was filled with good times and good people. There was a Ally Cat race as well that took place in which I have some video of the end and of the awards. I am looking forward to next years event and also to the contest coming up in San Francisco at the Cow Palace very soon so stay tuned to www.mashafix.com for coverage of this event. I was in awe to see such a sick indoor skate park that professional riders and staff members at Hurley get to use on a daily basis. Although the park is not necessarily large in size; it has some sick stuff for these guys to hit up. I think one of the highlights of the day for me was to see CONGO skate !!! I mean we already knew he rips it up riding FIXED FREESTYLE but shit ! This guy can skate too and he is not bad either ! hahaha ! I was out filming with professional Fixed Freestyle rider Kenny Arimoto and we just so happen to be in the area of the www.LIVERYDESIGNGRUPPE.com store front in Huntington Beach, Ca. so we stopped in and said hello to Jakob and the rest of the LDG crew. Jakob as you all know hurt himself on his trip to Barcelona and we are all in anticipation of his recovery and to see him out on his bike again. When we arrived to the LDG shop Jakob came out and greeted us with a mini motorcycle doing wheelies and burnouts. This shit was so sick to see him without the big boot on his leg for the first time in a while. Jakob was not only doing wheelies on the motorcycle but he was doing bar spins, 180's, and wheelies on his bike again as well, not to mention kick flips on a mini Globe plastic board. I expect a fast full recovery from Jakob so be prepared to see him flying over something or grinding something in a town near you soon.

I ran into him at the local bike shop City Grounds as he was picking up his prize package from winning 1st. and shot this little video of him opening his new T-Level roll top back full of goodies. I really like his statement at the end of the video quoting the Wolfpack by saying this, "if you are not 1st. then your last." and as Edgar says this he holds up the dog tags he just one again for the camera to see. All I can say after that was PRICELESS !! STRAIGHT UP ! I really look forward to seeing Edgar race and crush the competition even more while representing all his friends and local Long Beach supporters. I would also like to congratulate Edgar on winning a spot at this years Red Bull Ride + Style in San Francisco, Ca. !!! This is truly special to see him go !!! Now as Edgar would say in any occasion and especially if he is passing you …. "OOOOOOOOOOOO YEEEAAAAHHHH!!!"

So while I was up in San Francisco for the 4th. So last night I was on FB and saw a video that Josh Boothby took on his cell phone camera of a little prank he did to Nikko Jow's car at Area Cycles. Apparently Nikko left his cars top down so Josh thought it would be funny to fill his car full of packing peanuts. The video was just too funny so I hit Josh up to sent me the video so I could post it up. By the time I got the email from Josh last night Nikko had already got back to his car to see it completely packed with foam packing peanuts. So from the looks of Nikko's FB posts last night he did not see his car until hours later and he was FURIOUS !!! LOL !! I thought it was hilarious !! I say these guys start a prank war !! BUahahahha !! Good Times !!

I was down in Huntington Beach, Ca. today visiting with Jakob Santos at the LDG storefront and got a chance to snag a few clips of him riding again even with his boot on his foot. It looks like Jakob is healing up just fine and I expect to see him throwing hammers in no time. Enjoy because I know he did being back on his bike again.

So I was at home editing video from the SF Bike Expo and AFC Uproar from this past weekend when I got a surprise visit from my Grandma. I just so happened to have my phone ready to capture these priceless moments. I think this has to be one of the most memorable moments in my life and I just had to share it with all of you out there because this was just way to funny. My Grandma is 94 and still got some moves ! hahahahaha !
