Mashafix.com was created in August of 2011. Originally I created Mashafix to showcase the videos that I produce. After about two months of blogging only the videos that I made I knew it was time to step it up a bit and start posting more fixed gear and bike related posts to help spread the love of our ever growing culture. Now I have always been a huge fan of bombing down big hills and darting in and out of cars in heavy traffic, but it was back in April of 2011 when I took a trip up to the very first Red Bull ride + style with a group of professional fixed freestyle riders that I fell in love with the fixed freestyle aspect of riding. Since then I have been learning as I go how to film and edit my own videos and have probably filmed with everything from a iPhone to a DSLR now. I have been inspired by so many peoples videos and work that I am constantly trying to improve this website and videos I make.

Now as far as the site name “Mashafix”; this derived from two words that are synonymos throughout the fixed gear culture which are “mash” and “fix. I have always been the one to try and give 110% in whatever it is I do in life and I always say to only do what you love. Now take the word “mash” and think of it as meaning to “going all out” and take the word “fix” and think of it as a “addiction” or some thing you “love to do” and when you put these two words together you get “MASHAFIX”. The word “MASHAFIX” means to go all out doing something you love to do …. and thats what I am doing.
