Omar Sebai and Johnathan Ball have been working hard on this Young Guns Fixed Freestyle video and I can not tell you how excited I am to see this when it is finished. Rumor has it that this will be released in about a month or so. There is going to be so much good young talent all throughout this video. So in the mean time #SMC and get ready for YOUNG GUNS.
It is so cool to see Lance Armstrong race but then to see him mash around the city streets on a track bike is so epic ! The MASH SF squad took a little trip to Texas and was able to get some great riding footage with the great Lance Armstrong. I thinkn one thing I have to point out is if Lance is going to be stripped of all his titles because he was against policies of the USADA because they say he was at an advantage to the other people he competed against then how come he got smashed on by Mr. Garret Chow? … well for a little bit until he just took off on the group hahahaha !
Line of Sight is the inside story of underground bicycle racing around the word. Through the lens of his helmet cameras viewers are transported into the wild and dangerous world of Alleycat racing: where high speeds, traffic, and pedestrians combine with riders hell-bent on victory at any cost. Lucas keeps pace with some of the best urban riders in the world in their natural element, including Shino, Ted Shred, Chas, Jumbo, Kevin Porter, Felipe “The King”, Austin Horse, Crihs, and Alfred Bobe Jr.
More than just a montage of vehicle-dodging, fast paced action, Line of Sight also gives the viewers an insight into the community of bicycle messengers who run and participate in these underground races. Director Benny Zenga turns the cameras back on Lucas, his compatriots, and on the incredible cities where they run wild on the streets. The end result? A world tour of the urban jungles of New York to the actual jungles of Guatemala, from the narrow maze of London streets to the Great Wall of China.
So this past Saturday was a blast !! I had so much fun out there with everybody that came out to the event. I remember showing up to the Staples Center to see hundreds of riders having fun and ready for a fun filled day of riding. I will be making a video of this event so be prepared for that. I want to thank all my cameramen that came out to help film this event because without all of your help I would not have been able to do this to the scale I wanted to. I want to encourage anyone who was at this event to email me their photos and or video clips to firstname.lastname@example.org along with their information so I may credit you for your work if it is used. I also want to thank all of the Sponsors that helped make this day happen. My intent was to make this day dedicated to all the kids out there that support Mashafix.com and everything I do. Without all of you out there showing your support for the blog this past year I do not think I could have kept it going so I thank all of my fans out there. I plan on throwing more and more events so be prepared for that because it is all about giving back to the cycling community in which I love so much. So stay tuned to Mashafix.com for more updates and photos ! #YOUKNOWWAZGOOD
I met Christian years ago threw a friend of mine who had a bike shop down in Newport Beach, Ca. Since I met Christian he has progressed so much with his riding and his video creations. I know he loves the sport of fixed freestyle as much as anyone and that is why I asked him to be a guest blogger on Mashafix. I expect some really cool posts from him so I look forward to some great new content from him. He made this video last night introducing himself to the Mashafix team. This kid has such a creative mind !
Alfonso just sent this video he posted up a few days ago and I am really diggin the vibe and the riding in this for sure. Clean angles and good music choice to the editing. The cuts between tricks and him packing his stuff up in his bag were really clever. Alfonso is improving just as fast as the evolution of Fixed Freestyle and I look forward to seeing more episodes to come.
Christian has been riding his ass off and been putting out constant videos that are both entertaining and showing his vast progression this past year. This kid has got some talent and Johnathan Ball really does a great job with the filming and editing on this video. Favorite Christian Musgrave video by far … although I am a sucker for the random videos.
This July edit from 14 year old Tyler Nakamoto is incredible !!!! This kid has progressed so much so fast. He has developed a clean style where you can tell he has full control of his bike at all times. He definitely saved the bangers for the end going from a truck driver, 11 stair bar spin, to a finale of a roof drop bar to flat !! So insane ! I think it’s the coffee I’m drinking or the fact that I am so excited to see more from young Tyler that I am using so many exclamation points!!!!! #YOUKNOWWAZGOOD
Here is a flashback that deserves a GIF for sure. A few weeks ago I was having a few beers with TTH13TTH and he showed me this old video of MATT SPENCER. That skid at the end was just way too sick. Matt has such a smooth style and can make a SESH out of any spot.
Now I have not done a flashback in a while but how it works is you mute the video and play the music from the ZOMBIE JUICE track below. Jason Clary sent me this song after I got back from my trip to the Bay Area. I have had this song stuck in my head all day and it goes well with that skid Matt does at the end.
