MOVIE REVIEW – “Line of Sight” by Lucas Brunelle

So before I say anything else I would like to make it perfectly clear that “LINE OF SIGHT” by LUCAS BRUNELLE is my new all time favorite movie to watch when it comes to cycling. This movie had me in aww from the opening scene. This is some of the most intense racing footage I have ever scene from anyone in a long time. I really love what LUCAS has to say about what its like to ride your bike and race trough traffic and how it was an art what we do in these blind spots that we live and ride in everyday. After watching this I have a new found love for what I consider to be my biggest passion in life which is riding bikes. To me there is no better feeling than zipping through traffic and battling cars for position and sometimes even beating them for miles of city streets by dodging cars and running red lights and stop signs. To me that is priceless and one of the greatest feelingS in the world. So if you love to ride your bike as much as I do and if you love riding fast you are going to fall in love with LUCAS BRUNELLES’S “LINE OF SIGHT” SO PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY HOLLYWOOD GARBAGE AND FAKE BIKE STUNTS LIKE IN THE NEW MOVIE THAT IS SET TO COME OUT TODAY “PREMIUM FAIL” .. I MEAN “RUSH”. IF I WERE YOU I WOULD SAVE MY MONEY I WOULD HAVE WASTED AT THE MOVIE THEATER AND PAY $20 TO BUY A COPY OF LUCAS BRUNELLE’S “LINE OF SIGHT”. #YOUKNOWWAZGOOD

Line of Sight is the inside story of underground bicycle racing around the word. Through the lens of his helmet cameras viewers are transported into the wild and dangerous world of Alleycat racing: where high speeds, traffic, and pedestrians combine with riders hell-bent on victory at any cost. Lucas keeps pace with some of the best urban riders in the world in their natural element, including Shino, Ted Shred, Chas, Jumbo, Kevin Porter, Felipe “The King”, Austin Horse, Crihs, and Alfred Bobe Jr.

More than just a montage of vehicle-dodging, fast paced action, Line of Sight also gives the viewers an insight into the community of bicycle messengers who run and participate in these underground races. Director Benny Zenga turns the cameras back on Lucas, his compatriots, and on the incredible cities where they run wild on the streets. The end result? A world tour of the urban jungles of New York to the actual jungles of Guatemala, from the narrow maze of London streets to the Great Wall of China.

MOVIE NIGHT // THE WORKSHOP LB

It is going down tomorrow night at THE WORKSHOP LB. They will be showing one of the sickest riding movies out there called “LINE OF SIGHT” BY LUCAS BRUNELLE. If you have not seen this I can promise you it is going to be better then “Premium Fail” …. I mean “Rush” that comes out this Friday in movie theaters worldwide. Lucas captures the most intense real raw riding footage I have ever seen to this day. If you like riding bikes and love riding in traffic even more then this video is for you. No acting, just pure riding and living in the moment.

Be sure to show up to THE WORKSHOP LB by 7pm. The movie will not start until 8pm so be here early and come hang out at the shop. STUNT MAN JOE “super fan”

Joe McKeag was recently featured on a new video series called FAN ACADEMY ON IGN. In this first episode Joe shows us a few tricks that were used in the soon to be released movie Premium Rush. Here are a few tricks Joe demonstrates for us below. Joe is a SUPERSTAR NOW !

The “SUPER FAN” Joe McKeag gives us a great demonstration of 3 tricks used by “Wiley” in the movie Premium Rush to get away from the villains.

TRICK #1 The “POWER SKID”

1.) Get up out of the saddle and press your hips up against your bars.
2.) With one foot you press down and with the other foot you pull up while keeping your feet level.

TRICK #2 “180 Degree Spin”

This trick is a two part move.

1.) Pedal backwards
2.) When you are ready to do a 180 press down with your back foot then pull up on your bars and throw the bike around as hard as you can 180 degrees and then start peddling forward in that direction.

TRICK #3 “Bunny Hop”

1.) Get a lot of speed
2.) Lift your front wheel up as if you are doing a wheelie and then trust yourself out of your seat and throw your knees up towards your chest.

FIXATION movie review

I have been patiently waiting to see the movie FIXATION when I saw a picture posted up on instagram by Scott Horton showing it available on netflix. Since I had just got done from a long bike ride with a friend we decided to watch it. I had only seen the trailer for it so I was not to sure what to expect. I know this film was a documentary so I assumed it was going to be a bit on the boring side but since it was something about what I love to do it was rather entertaining and informative. I really like how they showed the world of riding through different points of views not only from just different riders but from riders with different everyday lifestyles. I feel like Sean Martin’s part was an extension of his part in To Live and Ride in LA but I did strongly agree with what he said about his hopes in seeing everyone in the scene of fixed gear bikes working its way back in a direction of going fast again. I personally miss seeing the days of people going fast on track bikes and still doing tricks. Today with track bikes and fixed freestyle set ups having totally different geometries and components it makes for two totally different scenes of fixed gear culture in which I really love seeing people riding track bikes and doing tricks and bombing hills. Not only that but seeing riders hit speeds of 40 mph on a velodrome is absolutely insane and fun to watch. So in my opinion I would suggest to everyone to watch this video, especially if you love fixed gear bikes and its urban culture. It is really nice to see more cycling movies getting on Netflix so definitely take advantage of that when you can. If you would like to PURCHASE a copy of FIXATION check out their WEB STORE HERE.

So I am not to be the one to “SPREAD RUMORS”, however a inside source has recently let me in on some big news. As many of us know and have seen Chris Fonseca’s old Fixie classic “REVOKED” movie which was one of the first “FIXED FREESTYLE” riding videos back in the day should be really stoked on the news I am about to drop. Now about six months ago Chris Fonseca dropped what was supposed to be his “LAST” fixed gear bike video showcasing Jakob Santos, Josh Boothby, and Torey Thornton. Well check this out …… IT IS NOT GOING TO BE HIS LAST VIDEO !! In fact he is actually working on what was said to me as being a new “fixed gear movie.” So like I said, “this is a rumor”, however it is from a very credible source. Either way I am super pumped to see what happens. I posted up Fonseca’s last edit as well as the full length REVOKED movie below for you all to enjoy.

CAN’T FOOL THE YOUTH PREMIER recap

So last nights premier showing of CAN’T FOOL THE YOUTH at the LDG storefront in Huntington Beach, ca. was a huge success. Kids traveled from far and near to get a first hand glimpse of this bad ass new video put together by ZANE MEYER. This is definitely a must have dvd for anyone who loves the fixed gear culture. There is tons of humor mixed in with some good tunes and great riding by some of best professional fixed freestyle riders in the world. I have two parts in this video …. in which im taking some fatty ripz so I was really stoked on that ! hahahahaha ! Also in attendance last night was two of this films main stars; Gus Molina and Josh Boothby who were signing auotgraphs for countless kids and parents trying to get their hands on free swag and a illustriest copy of the CAN’T STOP THE YOUTH dvd. I took some shots of the debauchery inside but I will have some funny video clips from last night as well a little later. I know I have already watched this new movie 2 times since I saw it last night so do not miss out on your chance to preview this video and purchase your copy coming up at MIDWEST MAYHEM 3 ON JUNE 9TH or at iMiNUSD ON June 23rd.
