For all of you out there that are not going to be taking part in the ALL AMATEUR FIXED FREESTYLE COMP there will also be a ALLY CAT RACE. Please be at the same meeting location at CITY GROUNDS in downtown Long Beach, Ca. to check in and sign up to race. GO BANDIT has donated a GPS HD CAMERA along with a with some mounts that will be given to the 1st. PLACE WINNER OF THE ALLY CAT RACE. This should be a good time so come on out an join the fun. Mashafix.com will be covering the event live.
For the Ally Cat Race it will be open to FIXED AND SINGLE SPEED ONLY. If under 18 years of age a waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian to race.
The ROYAL HC SUNDAY SESH RIDE has been going strong for the last month now with riders coming from OC to LA to join in on this fun ride threw the streets of Long Beach. This ride meets up at CITY GROUNDS at about 11 and leaves at noon every other Sunday. Paul from ROYAL HC who is also the organizer of this ride made this cool video showing us some of the fun they had on their last ride. I was only able to hang out with the group that day for a short time because I was on my to the Home Depot ADT Velodrome for the USA vs. Canada meet they were having that same day. Paul did a great job getting this group together and capturing some great moments along the way. What was really awesome about this Sunday Sesh Ride was that Paul had reached out to all the riders via facebook telling everyone that he would be filming the riders that day and would be giving a special prize to the rider who in his opinion riding that day stands out from all the other riders in what he like to call his “Rider of the Week”. Now the rider of the week turned out to be none other than Mr. Johnathan Ball and I would like to also give him some PROPS for his riding that day. This is awesome that Paul is getting these kids together and making good use of a Sunday afternoon. “these kids are the next pros” -Paul from ROYAL HC is what he had said to me on the first Sunday Sesh ride and that stuck with me. Paul is all about the kids and this really shows that. NICE JOB PAUL !!! Just got sent this edit from the homie Paul at ROYAL HC out of Long Beach, Ca. The ROYAL HC team is getting stronger with riders like Forest Parker and Marwin Ou but this 14 year old prodigy Gabriel Garcia is seriously getting better and better every time I see him ride. This new edit of Gabe is sick as fuck and goes hard in the paint at only 14 I remind you !!! This edit ends with “To Be Continued” after Gabe throws his Fakie Wheelie and I can not wait for the next edit to drop !! The 48 Second mark is my favorite part .. BANGER !!! So I recently went up to San Francisco and got a chance to test out a few new products from Royal Handmade Customs out of Long Beach, Ca. I was really impressed with the quality of these products and it was one of the first things that really stood out to me. The V3 Track Strap prototype straps are very stiff. I normally will wear clipless pedals when I am out on my track bike because of the increase in power transfer but out of all types of pedal combinations I have used in the pass these are by far the best way to go if your not trying to clip in. Not only are the straps fully adjustable to any shoe width but you are also able to adjust the length of the actual toe cage. This is something very unique in my opinion simple because all companies that make to cages only make them in 3 sizes S,M,L. The need for buying different sized cages is over once you get your hands on a pair of these. Now as we all know San Francisco is full of some of the most Gnarly hills in the world to ride. I just wanna state that I would trust my life with these straps bombing down any hill with no worry of them breaking on me. As far as the Adjustable Coozie and Top Tube Pad they pretty much speak for them selves but the quality of these products can not be surpassed. Everything is built to last and withstand the toughest beatings thrown at it. Keep an eye out for Royal Handmade Customs popping up in more and more local shops. Rumor has it they will be available soon at City Grounds bike shop( Royal has also picked up Forrest Parker as one of their newest additions to there expanding sponsored pro rider team.
